Tennessee Valley

It was a fantastic day today! I woke up early and got lots of cleaning done. I deep cleaned the floors, furniture and got laundry done. I also got some bleh Microbiology homework done.
This morning we went to check out Tennessee Valley for a run club. It was nice! There were many steep hills that we were not expecting but overall it was a good time. We ran for about 30 min and and then hiked for about another30.  We will be going there next time for hiking purposes with lil Spunky.

For dinner we made some delicious jalapeno burgers on the grill with some sprouted grain bread, Annie's Mac N’ Cheese, and some steamed broccoli with spray buttah. I will never buy some premade burgers if it is just us. These were just too good!

On the finances front, we are doing great. We have made it a goal to try to “stick” to the budget instead of always “adjusting” categories. It is more tedious and also we don’t save as much that way. Well off to study and then bed.

Seaglass Creation

Hey everyone! Hope your weekend has went great! I was very productive this weekend and got lots done. I did lots of homework and also cleaned house. I did not go out this weekend and saw a lot of Bad Girls Club. I recorded the entire last season and even got the hubs to get into watching it with me…lol.

On Saturday, I made a delicious grilled steak with fried onions and a Balsamic Vinaigrette reduction. I was so good. My sis gave me the recipe that her friend gave her. He owns an upscale catering company and this recipe is one of the hit dishes. I will see if it is ok and will probably post the recipe here soon.

I was at a festival last week and my friend won a few things…she ended up giving me this Seaglass necklace. I want to get some matching earrings for it…I love it!

I was feeling in a Crudités mood today and decided to make some homemade hummus to eat with my veggies. It came out smooth and creamy.

I also got the courage to take a walk with Spunky and my boot. It was a lil awkward crossing the street because all these cars were staring at me. My dog really did enjoy the nice weather and being outside. Hopefully the podiatrist will call this week with good news about my inserts being there. I want to be out of this boot and start training for the half in Dec. Well of to bed. Ciao!

It’s a Wrap!

Happy Hump day everyone! Today was a great day….work was good and it went by fast. I took my Organic Chem test yesterday and did ok…I wish I got a higher score. I talked to my professor today and I feel a lot better. I hope I can get an A in this class.

For breakfast I had scrambled eggs with Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Crumbles. They are delish and it makes it easier in the morning to cook breakfast.

For lunch my coworkers and I decided to try a deli for lunch. I have heard of it but never made the lil drive over there. I was fantastic!

 

I had the shrimp salad with feta cheese…yum!

For dinner I decided to make some lettuce wraps. I used to eat these about once a month when I was single and got a craving for them. My hubs had never tried lettuce wraps and he is a fan! I told him we have leftovers for din din tomorrow and all he said was “ MMMMmmm.” So these is going to make an appearance in the future again! It also only took about 30 min to make.

28th Annual Novato Art, Wine, and Music Festival

 

**This post is a day late because of the hotel wifi not working.

Hey everyone! We are here in Novato…still in the process of getting a lil casita to call home. Today we went to a festival...I am loving the Bay area!

My husband got a pomegranate ale and I got a Chardonnay.

We got a Linguica to share (was so hungry forgot to take a pic)..

We also shared a Philly Cheesesteak…

After looking at homes after the festival, we went to Whole Foods. We both got a salad from the salad bar and shared a small pizza dipped in the dipping sauce from our purchases…delish!
