Beach Weekend near Perdido Pass

Hey everyone! Hope your weekend has been great. Mine has had its ups and downs. One that is a lil bit of both is that I took my SATs this weekend and it is over! The downer is that I think I super sucked at it. Boo! We will see the results in 3 weeks.

On a different note, I went to see Something Borrowed on Friday night and that movie was fantastic! I would definitely say that going to the movies to watch it is so worth it! After we went to the movies, we went to Olive Garden and I got the Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo…it was delish!

This weekend a guy drowned at the beach we went to. My friend came running and told me someone was drowning. By the time I got there, EMS was there. I thought I was gonna have to do CPR. They flew the guy out in a helicopter. My friend called the hospital and she was told the people who were taken there that day in a helicopter survived. So I am crossing my fingers and praying that he survived. Here are some pics from that day….

Of course I had to study that day at the beach….bleh.

Today I just bummed around the house. I studied and relaxed in between. I also made a shrimp scampi (which I forgot to take a pic). I had some leftover ham that I was gonna throw away, but I decided to give it to Spunky. She was full the rest of the day and did not even eat a treat I gave her a little bit ago.

My Nana emailed me a video this weekend on how to peel potatoes super easy. I will never peel potatoes manually again! Here is the video:

Lastly, I have been thinking of getting an Ipad 2. I have an iPhone and think they are super alike, but the screen is bigger for watching things online and also for doing homework and etc. What is your opinion on getting one? Is it worth it and if you do have one do you use it a lot?

Well I am off to study a bit more before going to bed. Night!

Crazy Weekend Here I Come!

Happy Friday everyone!

It has been a long week thus far. Yesterday I took a test and studied the rest of the day for SAT’s coming up this Saturday (part of the PA application). I got a fairly good score last go around but this time I want to get something REALLY competitive. What sucks is that I did not get to  drink of these yesterday:

I decided to make a yummy dinner for one since the hubs had to work late.

Food poisoning=no fun

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been a stranger. I got food poisoned over the weekend and am barely recovering. It was not fun at all. Besides that I am getting ready for my SAT test on Saturday, a  test for my job tomorrow, and finals on Monday. I have a LOT on my plate.  I hope I do well…you never know how you are going to do on SAT’s.I have taken 3 practice tests for it and the first two went up significantly, and the last one I took went down a bit which kinda bummed me out. At this point I do not know where I stand…WTF!

A lil over a week ago we celebrated my bestie Tinia’s birthday. I made frijoles charros with a homemade ham…it came out sooo good!

On a different note…while studying, I decided to get ice cream from the ice cream man and look what I found!

The ice cream man sells frozen doggie treats! So cute! She ate it up!

I went to a birthday party this weekend and look at what Lowe’s carries! These cute lil boxes to hold your gift cards.

I know it had lobster…I think it had some other seafood. I am not sure if the seafood or the eggs got me sick..but I was down for about 3 days. Not fun…this has been the worst I have felt for a lonnnnnnggg time!

Well off to study for my tests for a lil bit. See ya guys later!

My Sister's Weightloss Story

Hey everyone! Hope your weekend is good so far! Like I said on the last post , my sister has successfully lost 100 lbs. Here is her story:

People always ask me how did you do it? What are your tips? To be honest I'm not sure what to say. If you really want to lose weight you will do it. A huge help that my sister had recommended was myfitnesspal and it has helped a TON. It makes you automatically accountable for what you eat because it will tell you what you should weigh in five weeks eating and working out the way you are. I still treat myself once in awhile to what I crave so that way I will not binge eat it because I deprived myself. I eat in moderation and when I'm 75 percent full I stop eating. I do not drink soda but I do have a hearty breakfast to get my day started and a light dinner. I try to NEVER eat after six and if I do a light snack like a fiber bar or piece of fruit. I exercise at least four days a week and don't go over four days in a row without working out it's like starting all over! Running and plyometrics has helped me lose so much weight. I am currently at 100 lb weightloss and I would never go back to my previous life style. It's so nice to fit in normal ppl clothing. When I started I was a size 28 and now a 16 :)! Hopefully one day I can be in the single digits but I know if I keep doing this I can achieve anything. My weight loss journey started when my husband deployed and I was in houston for my sons first b day party. My sister made me go on a half mile walk and I was gasping for air and felt like I was dying. I decided if I ever wanted to be an active role in my sons life I had to do something about it NOW. I can now run six miles nonstop and I have really never felt better in my life. I think family support has a lot to do with it. Without them pushing ms and encouraging me I'm not sure i would have been nearly as successful. When I walked into my doctors office and weighed 280 lbs and I told her I had a longterm goal of 160 but mini goals of 20 lbs. She told me let's be realistic you will be lucky if you ever hit 200 lbs on your own. Well here I am 20 lbs from my goal and under 200 naturally. NEVER let anyone put you down and tell you that you are not capable of your dreams and goals. Most of all remember that you are doing it for yourself to have a better life. Dont expect to workout one day and be your ideal weight. Instead of stepping on the scale and saying crap I only lost 0.2 of a lb for that hard workout celebrate because you are that much more closer to where you would like to be. Remember that the 0.2 that you lost will eventually be a lb and then 20 lb and then more. Weightloss takes time just like it took time to put it on. Never give up you can always do it!
