BCAA's

Happy Friday everyone! I have had a great but busy week. I worked until 8 two days this week, only to get home and great ready for the next day and bed.

I have still been using the intermittent fasting approach and all I can say is that I love it! I like to have my morning coffee and not have to worry about snacking all day. It seems to free up my time. I am now almost down to 9 lbs lost which is a great thing. I only have 17 more lbs to go to reach my goal weight.

Since I have been doing IF, I have been doing some research on working out in a fasted state. Martin from Lean Gains recommends taking BCAA's shortly before working out. I decided to give it a try. I got my shipment in the mail yesterday and will be starting it today....I am kinda excited to see if I get great results!

Well off to work. Ciao!

Foot Injury

Hey everyone! I hope your weekend has been great! Sorry I have been gone for a bit….been busy with work and home stuff. Overall the week has been okay.

One thing I decided was to stop Paleo. I weighed myself on Monday and was the same weight as the week before. I think I reached a plateau. I decided to start Intermittent Fasting and have been doing that since Monday. I think that got me out of the plateau since I am down 2.5 more lbs. today.

I was surfing the internet yesterday and found this: America's Obesity Rates . I think it is really sad and gives America a bad rep. We have got to get our s#*@ together guys, that includes me.

I went to the Podiatrist yesterday because I have been having this foot pain for 3 yrs. I have seen two podiatrists already and they just gave me inserts. I also got corticosteroid injections and wore a metatarsal pad. None of them resolved it. The doctor that I worked with recommended that I try the podiatrist here…he said he was a great one. I took his advice and went. They took several x-rays and it turns out that I fractured my sesamoid bone. I have to wear an air splint for 1 month and if it doesn’t heal during this time, I will need to have surgery. I also can do any running, cycling, or the elliptical. I am gonna try to swim and do weights. I am freaked out because I am on a downhill with my weight loss and I see so many stories on how people gained weight with an injury.

Here is what I will be wearing:

I found a pair of my jeans that will fit over it:

As soon as I am better, I am contemplating doing barefoot running. Here is an article from New York Times on the subject: Are We Built to Run Barefoot?

Brian has been so supportive with me being a gimpie. He made me dinner today.

Well of to relax! Ciao!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I had a low-key weekend with the hubs. We just did some house stuff and watched movies. We did not do the usual BBQ. It was a nice relaxing weekend. Now we gotta get ready for the hustle and bustle of work tomorrow.

Yesterday we went on a  4 mile walk with Spunky. We found a dog park not too far away and let her go explore. She enjoyed running and playing with the dogs a lil bit.

For lunch I was craving lots of veggies so I made a salad beast with Strawberry Vinaigrette. It came out glorious.

The salad had:

  1. romaine lettuce
  2. avocado
  3. raspberries
  4. pork loin
  5. red bell pepper
  6. Vidalia onion
  7. cherry tomatoes
  8. broccoli

For dinner I made “spaghetti” with meatballs. I used some chicken balls from Costco that had spinach in them and also made homemade meatballs with seasonings. I put the meatballs on top of spaghetti squash.

Has the Cure for Cancer been found?

Hi everyone! I have been relaxing today. Earlier I was surfing the internet and stumbled upon a video that is incredible. It shows Dr. Burzynski’s method on treating cancer and the numbers are astonishing! He uses a different method than conventional medicine that challenges the world of Medicine. I highly encourage you to share this video with family and friends. Have a great day!

Work Promotion for the Hubby

Hey! It has been a great weekend thus far. On Thursday for dinner we had a delicious pork loin with spaghetti squash….it came out fantastic! I roasted the pork loin with garlic slivers and a rub, and sautéed the spaghetti squash with mushrooms, a tbsp. of butter, a pinch of parsley, and some garlic.

Yesterday, my hubs got a promotion at work…I am so proud of him. To celebrate, we had a scrumptious dinner. We made crab legs, corn on the cob, chicken marinated in mojo marinade, and our friend Kyle brought a Marionberry pie from Whole Paycheck. It was good! I have never heard of it but I guess it is a local fav. I just ate the filling because of Paleo but I would definitely buy it again.

Today we are just getting some errands done and chilling around the house. It should be a relaxing weekend at home. I am choosing to keep it low key and not do much since I will be starting Organic Chemistry next week and will not have 100% free weekends after that.

Well of to Lowe’s…ciao!
